About
It all began in 2009. We needed more light and we wanted to start using light emitting diodes rather than incandescent bulbs. The market wasn't ready for us. The available LED light fixtures were either boring or ugly or way too dim. I wasn't willing to compromise, so I decided to make my own.
I was comfortable drawing up ideas for new fixtures, but didn't have any relevant experience for building them, so I started taking classes at the local community college to learn how to work with metal and glass. Ken already had a background in electrical engineering, so that part was more straightforward.
At first, it seemed like there were only one or two rooms in the house that needed a lot more light. As we got going, it became clear that the other rooms needed attention too. Now we always seem to have a lighting project in the works.
These are the ones we've finished so far. They are all designed to be visually exciting as well as energy efficient. They have dramatically changed our house and how we live in it. All for the better.
