I found a fun Japanese fabric with animals in unexpected colors that reminded me of a trip to the zoo with my mother. She used an unusual film (infrared?) to photograph the animals so the pictures turned out really interesting.

I put one of the animals at the center of each log cabin block.

Just after finishing the full quilt, my husband decided to raise the mattress on our bed, which meant we needed a bigger quilt to cover the sides properly. So I made more (bigger) quilts.

The back of the quilt is one large log cabin square.
