A Japanese fabric with animals in unexpected colors reminded me of a trip to the zoo with my mother when I was little. She used an infrared film to photograph the animals and I thought the pictures were really fun.
I put an animal at the center of each log cabin block.
Just after finishing the full quilt, my husband decided to raise the mattress on our bed, which meant we needed a bigger quilt to cover the sides properly. So I made more (bigger) quilts.
The back of the quilt is one large log cabin square.
